Hey, Winona Friends Church.

Good Wednesday evening from the Abney house to yours.

In these days of rapid-fire news conferences and updates from national and state leaders, let's not forget who we are and to whom we belong.

As a church, we need to take preventive measures and commit ourselves to prayer and taking seriously and heeding the recommendations of our leaders. We need to rely on health professionals for advice and entrust our lives to Christ. I want to encourage each of us to take full advantage of the resources we have been given and follow the best-practices of those who can give helpful and health-giving advice. Again, it is important that we find information from reliable sources.

And then, we need to step back and stay centered and remember and remind each other that we belong to Jesus.

Know that I am praying for you and for our church. I want to encourage you to contact me if you have a need or a prayer concern: pastor@winonafriends.com.
Kathy and I are thankful to be able to take this journey with Winona Friends Church. I invite you to join us as we pray for our leaders and for those who will make decisions throughout the world. I am praying for pastors and for churches and for God’s Holy Spirit to protect us, encourage us and yes, to grow us.

The apostle Paul says it well in Philippians 4:6-7 (CEV) Don’t worry about anything, but pray about everything. With thankful hearts offer up your prayers and requests to God. Then, because you belong to Christ Jesus, God will bless you with peace that no one can completely understand. And this peace will control the way you think and feel.

I believe in Winona Friends Church. I believe in you, today. Know that while we are not meeting together physically at the present time, Winona Friends Church is alive and well; this is a season when WFC and churches around the world can thrive and be of incredible and much-needed encouragement to one another. Social media platforms provide ways for us to do those things even though we are in our homes.

Build Your kingdom here
Let the darkness fear
Show Your mighty hand
Heal our streets and land
Set Your church on fire
Win this nation back
Change the atmosphere
Build Your kingdom here
We pray!

Listen to the song by Rend Collective by clicking on the link below and worship as you listen. May it be our prayer ... and may it be our cry to God.

Because the church has left the building does not mean God has taken a vacation. He is still leads us to be change-agents in the world today.
