Bob has attended WFC for 35 years. He has two sons Todd (Tracy) of Florida and Victor (Tanya) of Salem. He is the proud grandfather of two grandchildren, Rachel Winn-Dowling (Zach) and Andrew Winn; and two great-grandchildren, Remi & Oakley Dowling.

If you’re looking for a church where you can have fellowship and be actively involved, we would love to have you consider meeting with us at WFC!

Elder of Outreach

Andrew Blackburn

Andrew Blackburn is an elder at Winona Friends Church for the Outreach Commission, which has several local ministries. Food For Friends By Friends provides groceries to the community on the fourth Saturday of each month. The church also provides meals and flowers for those going through medical procedures or difficult circumstances. The Benevolence ministry provides financial support to families and individuals for practical and unique needs.

Andrew and his wife Adriana were married in 2007 and have been part of WFC since 2011. They have four children: William, Adam, Rebecca, and Abigail. Andrew and Adriana teach an Adult Bible Fellowship on Sunday mornings, studying God's word in a more intimate way with others.  Andrew and Adriana are thankful for God's faithfulness to WFC. They value the relationships developed here, and the emphasis of love for God and His word, which is the heartbeat of Winona Friends Church.

Elder of Spiritual Life

John Strudthoff

John Strudthoff is our spiritual life elder and has served in this role since 2015. His role at WFC is to work closely with the Pastoral staff to support the biblical preaching and needs of the church.

John and his wife Susan were married at WFC in 2005 and have four children Ben, Matt, Sophie, and Maggie. WFC has played a critical role for mine and my families growth in Christ. I'd welcome anyone seeking a relationship with Christ to join us on our journey.

Elder of Christian Education

Anthony Steffen

Anthony Steffen has been the Christian Education elder since 2014.  His main function as elder is to over-see the Christian education of children and adults at WFC. He supervises Bible studies, Sunday School classes, Adult Bible Fellowship classes, and all that pertains to those activities.  Rita and Anthony were married in 1996 and have six children, Jacob, Hannah, Andrew, Benjamin, Daniel, and Nathan. They have attended WFC since 2011.
Anthony has been dairy farming from the day he was born. He has a Bachelor's degree, concentrated in Biblical studies and missions. His desire is for all who attend WFC to learn God's story and to mature as they grow closer to Him.

Elder of Stewardship

Dave DeRienzo

David DeRienzo is our Stewardship Elder and has held this position since 2015. He has also held other Elder positions in the past.

His responsibilities are to supervise the church finances, and the promotion of fund raising for the church. He is also responsible for church maintenance, and to work closely with the trustees.

David and his wife, Linda, were married in 1973. Their son Jeff and his wife, Cindy, along with their son, Alex, also attend Winona Friends Church.

Dave & his family are blessed to be part of the WFC church family. They encourage anyone looking for a friendly and welcoming place to worship and fellowship to visit WFC.

Elder at Large

Homer Althouse

Homer Althouse is an Elder at Large and has held numerous positions at Winona Friends Church over the last 60 years. Homer has attended WFC since his teen years and he and Marilyn raised their family at WFC.

Homer and his wife, Marilyn, were married in 1957 and have four grown children: Connie (Jim) Buchmann, Bonnie (Dennis) Adams, Julee (Chip) Kelly and Chip (Shari) Althouse. They have ten grandchildren and three great-grandchildren.  Homer and Marilyn find great joy in spending time with family, especially the great-grandchildren, whom they credit for keeping them “young”.
